About your Instructor:
Gregor Punchatz has worked on legendary projects as a CG and VFX Supervisor, from the Doom and Borderlands games to films like Robocop and Ready Player One. He started on "A Nightmare on Elm St 2," contributing to makeup effects, sculpting, painting, and puppeteering. He went on to work on "Robocop," "Coming to America," and many others. His puppeteering talents were used in the film "Earnest Scared Stupid," where he was the puppeteer and uncredited voice talent for Trantor the Troll. Gregor was hired in 1993 to create stop-motion models that were used in the creation of the video game DOOM. He spent 20 years as creative director at the animation boutique Janimation in Dallas, TX. The company worked on award-winning national commercials, video game trailers, and cinematics and contributed VFX to films such as the Spy Kids movies. He served as his CG supervisor, overseeing projects such as "Ready Player One," "The Mist," and "Overlord." During his time at ASC, he also contributed designs for projects like "Overlord," which marked his return to horror.
